On Day 4, the students used the bitmap based program and eventually integrated their vector image into the bitmap program to create a banner for their website. The day started off with an introduction of GIMP's interface as well as a demonstration of the tools and their functionalities. Next, students learned how to use the selection tools to cut out a certain image from it's background and change it's background. They cut out the Taj Mahal from it's background in a picture and added fireworks in the background as well as making the picture look darker so that it looked like it was night time at the Taj Mahal and fireworks were going off. After, the students were taught how to use color options and filters by turning a simple picture of a wooded area into a Halloween postcard. Then, the students were given time to take skills that they learned collectively over the four days and create a banner that included their logo and add it to their website.
