Today, the students learned about aerospace engineering. James led the workshop and showed the students what aerospace engineers look for and test to make sure that aircraft can fly efficiently. At the end, the students tested wings like those on airplanes by putting a wing on an angle. Then, they put it on a stand and turned on a fan that blew through a wind tunnel made out of cardboard to test how much weight the wing could carry.
