Day two began with Nicole introducing the lesson about Gimp. She started with a review of the previous day about vector vs bitmap images. The class downloaded the images for the day's project. Nicole taught the students the types of tools that Gimp provides as students followed along on test image. The students began by taking an image of the Taj Mahal and getting rid of the sky and adding in fireworks. They selected the sky and deleted and changed the contrast and brightness of the Taj Mahal image. Then they students added the fireworks image onto the Taj Mahal image and adjusted it with layers. They then changed the hue to alter the color of the fireworks.

During the second project, the students learned more about layers. They used an image of woods and adjusted the contrast to make it look dark and eerie. The students then added fog, made the fog blurry, and even added coffee stains to the image to make the photograph look older. At the end of the class, the students developed banners for the website they would develop later in the week.
