Today was the last day for the students to work on web-design and graphic-design. They had to create a website using all of the skills they learned over the course of the past week. A few of the students found coding HTML pretty easy and only had trouble finding the content for their webpages. Others had more trouble with coding in HTML and required some assistance. The majority of the mistakes were simple tag errors and missing end tags. There were a few staff members and interns that walked around helping students and explained things they did not understand. The students were able to take this assistance and fix other mistakes on their own.

The students also had to insert at least one picture/logo into their website. They had to use their newly developed graphic design skills in Gimp and InkScape to create a logo or edit an image. A lot of the students had trouble using these programs because they never used them before, but by the end of the workshop they were all able to effectively execute these programs within their websites. When the majority of the students were finished, we put their websites up on the projector and demonstrated them to the class. Everyone was involved in discussing the positives of each website and students were also able to give and receive constructive criticism in order to better their websites. This feedback gave the students a better idea for a more perfect website without discouraging them.
