Today the class taught by Jonathan with assistance from Heather. The main focus of today was to introduce and understand processing. Jonathan started the class explaining how processing is used and introduced a simple drawing exercise. After some time of explaining each component of the program being used, the students began working on creating shapes as well as filling them with color. Jonathon connected much of the process to create the shapes with programming in InkScape.

When everyone had colored squares, the class moved on to having those squares rotate on a certain point and eventually rotating around each other. They also defined what they wanted to have happen when an arrow key was pressed. These actions included a change in size or even how fast the object rotates. When all was done with the 2D aspects of the program, the students changed the 2D shapes to 3D and could play around with their designs.

William and Neal taught the afternoon portion of the workshop. Neal taught Google Earth for a little while. He showed the search button functions, layers, and tied in the functions of Google Earth with graphics and modeling. William showed Google SketchUp, which is a 3D modeling program for architecture. He showed each of the tools as well as how to make a basic chair. After this he showed them his own model which inspired the students to make their own.
