Steven started off the class by providing a description of technical details of how the internet operates with particular emphasis on how web pages are served. The students then learned the basic syntax of XML and HTML (elements, opening tags, self-closing tags, nesting, etc.) The students then practiced what they learned earlier by downloading an example web page that Steven directed them to and modified it by changing the text and adding their own images.
