The class today was about NetLogo. The morning portion of the class started out with an analysis of some of the pre-made Netlogo models. They had to determine what the models were doing and how the agents were working within the model as well as why models are used and what the benefits of using one are. Afterwards they began looking at how a Netlogo model works and, to demonstrate this, they started working on a model of a computer game called pong. In pong there are two players who use small bumpers to deflect a ball across the playing area. The players attempt to score by getting the ball past their opponents bumper and hitting the far side of the area. In the model they made controls for a user as well as an computer player.

After lunch they continued on with the pong model. After the model was completed the concepts used were discussed. Next they looked at a few other models and had to determine what the model was doing without looking through the procedures tab and name somethings that it might be modeling. Lastly they did some guided work on another model for babies and toys, using some of the things they learned today. Once the model was was done they were allowed to work on something constructive for the remainder of the class.
