In this class, the students learned about NetLogo. NetLogo is a modeling program that can be used to show how diseases are spread throughout the population. NetLogo mainly uses different commands and functions, which makes the program work. For example, some of the functions you could use are the following: move function, die function, cure function, etc. The class discussed different kinds of models that could be used in NetLogo. For example, there is disease spread, population growth, etc.

In this lesson, the students learned how to change colors, start their model, input code (which tells the model what to do), and many others things. The students also learned about adding buttons and slider bars. The objective of the lesson really was to show that computer programming has real world applications, such as computational modeling.
