Today, the students used what they learned all week to create new models. The students worked in pairs with an instructor or an assistant supervising their work. The students were able to use their own creativity to create a new computational model. One student created a model that showed how fish swim in schools and how predators attack those schools. Another pair created a model where humans ate chocolate, drank milk when the chocolate ran out, and finally ate each other when there were no other food sources available. The last group created a model of vampires who preyed on humans, finally introducing a vampire slayer that would save the humans. The students were able to show what they learned about biomedical modeling by using these same tools to create fun (and sometimes silly) models.
