This class dealt with agent modeling, specifically in AgentSheets. Valerie first led a discussion about how to design and create models, and she guided the students through creating a simple model. Students learned how to create agents, worksheets, and behaviors.

Using AgentSheets, the students first viewed an existing model of a "fairy tale" where princes were turned into frogs by witches. The students then built their own model, brainstorming for ideas, then putting them into practice. The final model included the black plague being spread to princes by rats. The princes could be healed by wizards, and the rats would get eaten by cats. Though this model was fantastical, it taught the students how to model things like the epidemiology (study of diseases) and predator-prey relationships (with the cats and rats).
