The EIT class today started two projects. First, they talked about building bridges and the forces of tension of compression. From there, they made cross-sections of beams that will hold weight. The students made a mold out of legos and Garrett poured the wax into the molds.

After pouring the molds and setting them out to dry, the class began a second project. The goal is to put a toy car on a ramp and fly it over the steps outside. But to "protect" the car, the class must decide where to place a sponge before they attempt the feat. Garrett began to explain the necessary measurements for this project, and the students divided into three groups to measure the stairs' height and width.

Tomorrow, the students will continue the wax beam racetrack projects.
