Today class started with Cornelia giving a prelude to Thursday and Friday's class. The name of the activity was the Adler Food Mystery. This is a case in which someone got food poisoning. The students were given time to read over the case to make sure they understood exactly what was going on. The students had to understand who the characters were, they also had a chance to look at interviews of the characters that would allow them to find out who had a motive to do such a thing. The students had to solve the case as forensic scientists which means that they had to use scientific reasoning.

After lunch the students looked at a website that allowed them to observe images of the human skeleton. Once they completed this excercise and knew enough about osteology, they went on to solve a mystery. They used excel to solve the Romanov Family Mystery. Afterwards, Renee gave an introduction to STELLA modeling and spent time getting the students acquainted with the program. After that Millicent and Ebonee helped the students create a flu model with STELLA software.
