Day three began with the introduction of using the internet to communicate. Specifically the students explored different ways to chat on the internet. The three softwares the students used were: Talk, Global Chat and Cu-see-me. As they explored the different softwares the students discoved that there are several advantages to chatting but also some disadvantages.

After the regular break, the students explored ways that models can be helpful. Using a graphic modeling program, STELLA, the students modeled how populations of certain countries will grow in the future. Next, the students participated in an activity to demonstrate how computers must be instructed in order to model things. The assignment was to, as a group, come up with a set of commands that will make the human-computer create a peanut-butter and jelly sandwitch. The students quickly found that the commands must be very specific and that commands that are understood for humans aren't for computers. To finish the session Bob1 came and talked to the class about his scientific career and how computers are used in his career.
