TIP 1997

Wednesday turned out to be another interesting day for the TIP students at Shodor. First, the students worked with online models provided by the Foundation for the use of the TIP students. Next, the students worked with Microsoft® Excel, continuing to investigate what they had already discovered about the limitations of computers. All this was completed in the morning before the students even went to lunch!

After lunch, the students got tips on using search engines from Alton, a Shodor intern. The students learned how to direct their searches using operators such as plus signs and quotation marks and were soon exploring the Internet with greater clarity. After a brief break outside, highlighted by the play of Lacrosse, the TIP students started to work with MacSpartan, a computational chemistry application.
