Day 2
First the workshop started off with an "ice-breaker" game called Traffic jam. After that, Deb went over transformations with the students. She talked about rotations, translations, reflections, and dilations. The class worked on a worksheet with the different transformations. After the worksheet on translations, reflections, and dilations the students then experimented with the Transmographer2 applet on the Interactivate site. The class then took a break.
After break, Tyler gave the class a math riddle. Deb then proceeded to talk about the associative and commutative properties. After the short lecture, the students then were given a worksheet where they had different "operations" for a rectangle and a triangle, to see if those properties pertained to the shapes. The different operations were rotations, and "flips".
