Scientific Computing:

This is a 15-hour workshop designed to introduce high school students to the investigation of scientific computing through logical reasoning and discovery using hands on investigations. They will compile and compare data research using graphs, spreadsheets, and computational computing languages such as C++ and Perl. As a part of the scientific process, students will also learn to communicate their observations and findings to each other as well as to a professional audience.

The workshop will involve structured hands-on labs and activities, experience preparing research documentation, and the opportunity to work collaboratively with other students on small projects. Careful observations and reporting of those observations will be emphasized at all times.
