Engineers in Training:

Ever had a chance to build something and see if it works? Ever wondered how to make it work better?

This is a laboratory-style 15-hour workshop designed to introduce middle school students to the basic elements of a computer-aided engineering design process: experimental investigation, measurement and collection of data, setting design selection criteria, using computational models to aid design, and construction of an engineered system. Students will be actively involved in the design and construction of small scale systems representing the disciplines of structural, mechanical and aeronautical engineering.
