This four-week residential Intensive Summer Science Camp will reach 30 seventh, eighth, and ninth grade students in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System and surrounding counties. The camp is designed to expose the students to creative science enrichment activities through a combination of classroom teaching, field trip experiences, and individual and group science projects. Additionally, the goals of the program are to provide a lifelong interest in science and mathematics for all participants, to encourage the consideration of these disciplines as possible career choices; to provide a supportive educational climate for participants, and to increase the number of pre-college students who have the interest, knowledge, and skills required to successfully pursue careers in these fields.
