This is a summer program for academically gifted students in the Columbus County and Whiteville City Schools. Each weeklong program will be geared to a specific grade and a specific topic, to allow students to experience new programs in following years. The camp will serve approximately 360 students over three years. Among the activities will be scientific field trips, experiments, interaction with scientific professionals, and opportunities to learn about scientific careers. Science teachers from area middle schools and high schools will be recruited to assist the instructor.
