Purpose:The visibility calculator solves for the mass scattering and absorption efficiency for visible light given the refractive index of the blocker and the bulk density. Results are shown for a range of grain sizes.

General Information:

1. The graph display mass absorption, scattering, and extinction efficiency. The red line is extinction, the blue line is absorption, and the gray line is scattering.
2. Some typical values to try are m=1.96-0.66i with a bulk density of 2.0 for soot, or 1.33-0i with a bulk density of 1.0 for water droplets.
