Purpose:The gradient calculator uses the LiveMath plugin to show the gradient of a scalar field.

Restrictions on Use: This plug-in does not load properly for Macintosh users with Internet Explorer. Macintosh users should view this plug-in with Netscape.

General Information:

1. Enter in your scalar field as a function of x and y.
2. The scalar field is shown as a surface plot with contours, and the vector field of the gradient is shown along with the contours.
