Air Resistance Calculator

Purpose: The air resistance calculator models the height of a dropped object with or without air resistance

Restrictions on Use: None

General Information:

  1. The height sliderbar sets the initial value of the position of the dropped object.
  2. The velocity sliderbar sets the initial value of the velocity of the dropped object.
  3. The gravity sliderbar sets the acceleration due to gravity.
  4. The drag factor sliderbar sets the value of the drag resistance, which provides a force of the drag factor times the velocity squared in a direction opposite the velocity.
  5. The mass sliderbar changes the mass of the object. Notice the difference in whether mass affects the outcome dependant on if there is drag or not.
