Review and Unit Quiz

This unit looked to present some of the basic processes found in the planetary boundary layer (PBL), including:

  1. weather processes: focus on convective turbulence and gradient Richardson number
  2. pollutant removal processes: included here were wet and dry deposition; chemical reaction processes; and pollutant dispersion
  3. wet deposition: examples of wet deposition are acid rain and acid fog
  4. dry deposition: dry deposition involves three stages: aerodynamic, surface, and transfer
  5. chemical reactions: chemical reactions represent one type of removal process for pollutants in the PBL
  6. evapotranspiration: the discussion in this reading was on the effect of moisture, partly controlled by evapotranspiration, on the height of the PBL

Unit Quiz: You will now be presented with a five-question, multiple-choice quiz. You should score at least four out of five correct on this end-of-unit quiz before continuing to the next unit. Once you have completed the quiz, close the quiz window, and continue to the module review and exam.
