1. Content
   • The unit covers the content recommended for DoDEA schools.
   • The unit is without cultural, gender or racial bias.
   • The content is not likely to become outdated by selected examples or slang phrases.
   • The content is mathematically and factually accurate.
2. Instructional design
   • The unit contains constructivist experiences.
   • Independent investigations are encouraged.
   • Many questions in the unit are open-ended.
   • The unit includes strategies to stimulate creativity.
   • Learners are directed to generalize, to draw conclusions, and to apply these to new experiences.
   • The unit activities encourage learners to analyze problems and to generate multiple solutions.
   • Icons, navigational commands and other prompts are easy to use, consistent, and offer options for subsequent choices at each step.
   • Learners can review content and correct responses at will.
   • Learners can click on key terms to see a definition.
   • Unit modules allow the selection of concepts and the sequencing of the presentation.
   • Unit activities help learners develop skills in ways that are substantially beyond drill and practice format.
   • The technology used is an effective medium for presenting unit content.
   • Learners can begin using the software effectively and independently within a short period of time.
   • Software instructions are clear and logically organized.
   • Support and instructions for the unit materials are easy to use.
