Grade Band: 4th grade
Standard Goal: Geometry
4-4.3 Predict the results of multiple transformations of the same type—translation, reflection, or rotation—on a two-dimensional geometric shape.
Translations, Reflections, and Rotations Lesson: Introduces students to concepts of transformations.

Transmographer
Activity: Explore the world of translations, reflections, and rotations in the Cartesian coordinate system by performing transformations on squares, triangles and parallelograms. Parameters: Shape, x or y translation, reflections across vertical and horizontal lines, angle and point of rotation.

Transmographer 2
Activity: Build your own polygon and transform it in the Cartesian coordinate system. Experiment with reflections across any line, rotations about any point, and translations in any direction. Parameters: Shape, x or y translation, x or y reflection, angle of rotation
4-4.5 Use transformation(s) to prove congruency.
Translations, Reflections, and Rotations Lesson: Introduces students to concepts of transformations.

Floor Tiles
Activity: Build a "floor tile" by dragging the corners of a quadrilateral. Learn about tessellations created from quadrilaterals when the shape you build is tiled over a plane.

4-4.6 Represent points, lines, line segments, rays, angles, and polygons.
Angles (elementary) Lesson: Students learn about classifying angles by their measure and in relation to angles formed by two lines crossed by a transversal.
Lines, Rays, Line Segments, and Planes Lesson: Introduces students to lines, rays, line segments, and planes.
4-4.7 Represent with ordered pairs of whole numbers the location of points in the first quadrant of a coordinate grid.
Graphing and the Coordinate Plane Lesson: Students learn basic ideas about graphing points on the coordinate plane.
Graphs and Functions Lesson: Demonstrates the connections between formulas and graphs.

Simple Coordinates Game
Activity: Investigate the first quadrant of the Cartesian coordinate system through identifying the coordinates of randomly generated points, or requesting that a particular point be plotted. Simple Coordinates Game is one of the Interactivate assessment explorers.
4-4.8 Illustrate possible paths from one point to another along vertical and horizontal grid lines in the first quadrant of the coordinate plane.
Graphing and the Coordinate Plane Lesson: Students learn basic ideas about graphing points on the coordinate plane.
Graphs and Functions Lesson: Demonstrates the connections between formulas and graphs.

Simple Maze Game
Activity: Investigate the first quardant of the Cartesian coordinate system by directing a robot through a mine field laid out on the grid.
