Grade Band: 3rd Grade
Standard Goal: Geometry
3-4.4 Classify angles as either right, acute, or obtuse.
Angles (elementary) Lesson: Students learn about classifying angles by their measure and in relation to angles formed by two lines crossed by a transversal.
3-4.6 Exemplify points, lines, line segments, rays, and angles.
Angles (elementary) Lesson: Students learn about classifying angles by their measure and in relation to angles formed by two lines crossed by a transversal.
Lines, Rays, Line Segments, and Planes Lesson: Introduces students to lines, rays, line segments, and planes.
3-4.8 Predict the results of one transformation—either slide, flip, or turn—of a geometric shape.
Tessellations: Geometry and Symmetry Lesson: Examines plane symmetry.
Translations, Reflections, and Rotations Lesson: Introduces students to concepts of transformations.

Tessellate!
Activity: Create a tessellation by deforming a triangle, rectangle or hexagon to form a polygon that tiles the plane. Corners of the polygons may be dragged, and corresponding edges of the polygons may be dragged. Parameters: Colors, starting polygon.

Transmographer
Activity: Explore the world of translations, reflections, and rotations in the Cartesian coordinate system by performing transformations on squares, triangles and parallelograms. Parameters: Shape, x or y translation, reflections across vertical and horizontal lines, angle and point of rotation.

Transmographer 2
Activity: Build your own polygon and transform it in the Cartesian coordinate system. Experiment with reflections across any line, rotations about any point, and translations in any direction. Parameters: Shape, x or y translation, x or y reflection, angle of rotation
