Standard Goal: Geometry
 build and draw geometric objects

Tessellate!
Activity: Create a tessellation by deforming a triangle, rectangle or hexagon to form a polygon that tiles the plane. Corners of the polygons may be dragged, and corresponding edges of the polygons may be dragged. Parameters: Colors, starting polygon.
create and describe mental images of objects, patterns, and paths

recognize geometric ideas and relationships and apply them to other disciplines and to problems that arise in the classroom or in everyday life

use geometric models to solve problems in other areas of mathematics, such as number and measurement
Angles (elementary) Lesson: Students learn about classifying angles by their measure and in relation to angles formed by two lines crossed by a transversal.
Area (elementary) Lesson: This lesson has students explore areas of rectangular and irregular shapes on a grid to help them understand the concept of area and the units in which area is measured.
Estimation (elementary) Lesson: Students practice and improve upon their estimation skills.
Length, Perimeter, and Area Lesson: Introduces students to length, perimeter and area.
Perimeter (elementary) Lesson: Students learn about perimeter and the units used to measure perimeter using a variety of materials including their hands, feet, rulers, and computer applets.

Clock Arithmetic
Activity: Work with various types of clocks in order to learn about modular arithmetic operations. Parameters: Number of hours on the clock.

Image Tool
Activity: Measure angles, distances, and areas in several different images (choices include maps, aerial photos, and others). A scale feature allows the user to set the scale used for measuring distances and areas.

Sierpinski's Carpet
Activity: Step through the generation of Sierpinski's Carpet -- a fractal made from subdividing a square into nine smaller squares and cutting the middle one out. Explore number patterns in sequences and geometric properties of fractals.

Sierpinski's Triangle
Activity: Step through the generation of Sierpinski's Triangle -- a fractal made from subdividing a triangle into four smaller triangles and cutting the middle one out. Explore number patterns in sequences and geometric properties of fractals.
