Filling the time requirement
Here is a non-exhaustive list of what you can do to meet the offsite time requirements for this workshop.
- Explore the Math Toolsweb site.
- Post to the Discussion
Forum on Math Tools. I would like to use the discussion forum to
maintain discourse throughout the school year. Post on the forum about reflections of using the Flyer tools and a multi-representational approach to teaching functions. Also posting asking other members of Math Tools community their impressions and experiences regarding these and similar topics.
- Develop lesson plans, blackline masters, record sheets, and units using any of the Flyer Tools. If you are interested in authoring any of these to publish on the Interactivate site we can do that too.
- Explore the ISTE National Education Technology Standards for Administrators (NETS-A),
for Teachers (NETS-T) and for Students (NETS-S) as well as related information about these standards.
- Explore the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for
computer / technology skills and related resources on
the DPI website.
- Share the information learned in this workshop with others in your school formally or
informally.
- Read the articles listed on the
website. (Remember you need a password to access this section of the site. Email Bethany if you
forget it.)
- Identify and review other research or articles regarding similar topics and posting about
your findings on the Math Tools discussion forum.
- Collaborating with other participants on these topics either via email, in person, or through the discussion forum if you don't mind it being public accessible.
- Explore Shodor's Advanced Functions and Modeling
website.
Don't forget to email me, bhudnutt at shodor.org with a brief synopsis and time spent on these or other items. The time spent developing the email also counts!
