Shmoop Award

Shodor has recently been honored by being named a "best of the web" resource by Shmoop, a national educational website for teachers and students.

Since its inception in 1994, Shodor has been offering workshops, apprenticeships, and internships to students in and around the Durham area. Along with hands-on student programs, Shodor continues to provide free, online resources to educators and students across the country.

Through developing and deploying interactive models, simulations, and educational tools, Shodor is able to introduce students and educators to the excitement of discovery, the power of inquiry, and the joy of learning enabled by cyberinfrastructure technologies. Because of this and Shodor's dedication to education and computational science, Shmoop has awarded Shodor with the title of Best of the Web.

Shmoop is an education website dedicated to students and teachers (middle school through college ages). Shmoop's mission is to make learning fun and relevant for today's students. Each of the learning guides (included on Shmoops website) includes a Best of the Web section, where teachers and students are directed to quality, reliable websites for further exploration.
