We started class with a review of systems modeling in what we had learned the day before in Vensim. Next we introduced the idea of Agent modeling and how it works, pointing out the differences between agent and systems modeling and teaching the students the key terms used in agent modeling. We introduced Netlogo and demonstrated how it works by showing models from the library, after which,as a class, we built a netlogo model. Monte lectured on decomposition and how to use forensics to find time of death. He introduced a decomposition model and let the students play with it, choosing variables to change and seeing the effects it had on the time of death. Next the students got into groups and began to work on their Netlogo group projects.
