How Do I Run This Applet?

Object of the activity

This applet allows the user to learn about modular arithmetic by manipulating the number of hours on various clocks and then using those clocks to calculate the time after a specified number of hours has elapsed.

Controls and Output

• You can use the scrollbar to modify the size of the clock. The clock's size ranges from 2 to 26.
  

• After you have set the clock to the right size, you can enter the number of hours that you want converted into the textfield. After you enter the number, press ENTER, and the calculated time will be displayed below the entry field.
  

• The hand on the clock face rotates to the calculated time after you have entered the number of hours into the textfield. The image adjusts as you change the size of the clock.
