Description of the Model

The model we are using to calculate the action potential, is simulating the conditions of the Hodgkin-Huxley experiment. Hodgkin-Huxley performed their experiments on a squid axon that was placed in a bath of sea water. In this bath, there were certain intra and extracellular concentrations of Sodium and Potassium which affected the nerve action potential. In the following pages, you will have the opportunity to see what happens to the action potential when the extracellular concentrations of Sodium and Potassium are changed.

Run the models!!!
